Rogers Stirk Harbours + Partners
Evolve Consultancy has been working closely with Stirling Prize winners Rogers Stirk Harbours + Partners (RSHP) to provide a complete CAD management service alongside the practice’s Design Resources team.
Regular on-site visits and full off-site support service provide the architects with expertise required to help deliver outstanding and diverse projects. Evolve Consultancy’s time on-site is divided between providing project CAD development support and practice-wide training. Evolve has helped RSHP to deliver:
A CORPORATE CAD STANDARD
The basis of consistent and reliable electronic data is the corporate CAD standard. Evolve Consultancy delivered a series of procedures and protocols to unify the production of CAD and design data across the practice. The BS1192-compliant standard provides a series of “base-line” standards while remaining flexible enough to respond to the exacting needs of each project.
The increasing demands of integrated design and the communication and definition of geometry has required RSHP to investigate the benefits of BIM. Evolve provided advice, configuration and training in the use of BIM solutions to ease RSHP through the learning curve. Tasks that would have normally have taken weeks of co-ordinating and checking, can now be carried out during design meetings. The models can be manipulated, adjusted and updated ‘on-the-fly’ with all associated design documentation synchronised automatically.
Without the right knowledge, and the right training, technology becomes redundant. RSHP, renowned for their staff development, employs Evolve two days per week for bespoke training and face-to-face support. Evolve has designed and implemented an ongoing programme that allows each and every member of staff to develop, at his or her own speed, to the maximum of their abilities, without long periods away from important project work.
