MicroStation: USING WINDOWS ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

FREE

MicroStation uses configuration variables to define how certain tools work and to look for specific folders or files. Windows operates in a similar way. Some of these variables can be accessed by MicroStation.

Windows variables are defined using the syntax %VARIABLE%. In MicroStation configuration files, % is used to define a pre-processor and therefore needs to be changed to $(VARIABLE).

The list below shows the Windows environment variables, what they do, and how they can be used to set up MicroStation more effectively.
