It is a requirement of most Building Information Modelling-based projects to prepare a BIM Execution Plan (BEP for short). PAS1192-2:2013 defines a BEP as a "plan prepared by the suppliers to explain how the information modelling aspects of a project will be carried out".

The Evolve template presents the strategy for BIM delivery on a project in a simple-to-use spreadsheet format, addressing the key aspects of production, exchange and verification., including:

  • Project details, location, scope and unique challenges
  • Outline of project schedule, milestones and deliverables
  • Main stakeholders' contact details
  • Summary of client BIM requirements or Employer's Information Requirements
  • Project team BIM objectives & strategies
  • Matrix of BIM uses and Key Performance Indicators
  • Level of Detail (LOD) & Level of Information (LOI) matrix to define responsibilities for graphical resolution and accompanying meta-data at each relevant project stage
  • Variances from contract
  • Details of BIM protocols and standards utilised
  • Setting out & geographic requirements
  • Schedule of coordination & review meetings
  • Specification of authoring & collaboration tools being employed, formats exchanged and compatibility issues
  • Model naming conventions
  • Validation checks and compatibility testing

Rather than being a proforma of requirements, or having to copy large sections of wordy PDFs from the internet, Evolve's template is downloadable free of charge and can be edited as required for your project's needs.
